Decided to treat ourselves here for our anniversary and Cheals definitely didnt disappoint! From the pleasant decor and attentive service to the incredible food. We were excited when we found out they catered for a halal menu (which you have to enquire about 48hrs in advance). We got served lamb rack for our mains, which was cooked to perfection. We both thoroughly enjoyed the sourdough bread and rosemary buns with butter which were melt in your mouth, divine Hats off to the chef! We finished off with some lovely desserts and a little chocolatey surprise Definitely would like to try the tasting menu next time!
Previously visited Cheals when based in Henley-in-Arden. This was our first time at their new location in Knowle and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant is much more spacious now and the interior tastefully decorated. So, first impressions were great. Our waiter gave a warm welcome and expertly guided us through the menu and wine list. A very capable front of house team. My wife and I opted for the a la carte lunch menu and with each course our enthusiasm for the next grew. The hardest thing is deciding between all the tempting choices on offer, so if your budget stretches to it, I'd go for the tasting menu for a real treat. The highlight for us both was the dessert course. What a selection of moreish puddings skillfully prepared. Hats off to their patisserie chef. We chose Cheals for our second wedding anniversary and were delighted we did. We'll definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend it to others too.
Really enjoyed the dining experience here. Went for the winter set menu. Delicious . Each course was brought out with a brief description from server, presented beautifully and prepared skillfully. I enjoyed the quail starter, followed by pork main, and the indulgent chocolate mousse topped with sorbet. Look forward to a return visit
I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough. It was very clean and had a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were absolutely fantastic, especially as I have a dairy intolerance which they were really accommodating with. I never thought that I would be able to have such a delicious afternoon tea as usually the options when menus are changed are not the best. Everything was obviously hand made and absolutely delicious.
Came here for my 30th birthday celebrations, the food was incredible and incomparable! The staff were amazing I couldn’t fault it at all! Thank you to Matt and the team for looking after us!
Celebrated our anniversary tonight with dinner. Absolutely fabulous food! The whole experience was special, a real treat. Dishes were beautifully presented and eloquently explained. Cannot fault anything. Finished off with a drink in the bar which was spot on. .A memorable evening. Fantastic staff and service. Highly recommend.

Absolutely insane. Each dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavour. The culinary artistry here is nothing short of extraordinary. Warren’s Bar is a hidden gem in itself, offering a fabulous selection of cocktails. A special shoutout to the Club Tropicana, recommended by Matt—it’s hands-down the best cocktail I’ve ever had. As a coeliac, I often feel troublesome when visiting restaurants, but at Cheals, they always cater for me without any problems. Their understanding and care ensures that I can enjoy the full experience with complete confidence. Liam, the maitre’d, is simply the best. His warmth, attentiveness, and expertise elevate the entire experience. The whole team’s knowledge and personable approach make you feel like part of the Cheals family. Cheals is a rare gem where impeccable food, drinks, and service come together seamlessly. The experience is like no other. Highly recommended!
